Christenings, also known as baptisms, we love them. It’s a special thing to welcome a new person, baby or adult, into the church family. We believe we are all precious to God and at baptism we make a decision to start on a journey of faith. For babies and children, parents and godparents are speaking on their behalf and St Nicolas will support you in this.
Christening services at St Nicolas take place either during our Sunday morning 10 o’clock service or in a special ceremony on Sunday afternoons.
Contact Vicki in the Parish Office to get things rolling. If you have dates in mind please let us know and we will try our best to be accommodating.
Please also let us know your address when you contact us – the administration is slightly different depending on whether you live in the St Nicolas parish or not. If you aren’t sure which Church of England parish you live in, click here to visit the website ‘A Church Near You’.
Some families prefer a thanksgiving service to mark a new addition to the family – that’s great, we love them too!
